Andrea Lindsay Strugo

Andrea Lindsay Strugo has a wide-ranging public and private law practice, representing both claimants and defendants.  She has particular experience in cases concerning public law or human rights (e.g. SXH v CPS (Court of Appeal), GSTS v HMRC (Administrative Court), Quila & Bibi v SSHD (Supreme Court)). She has also developed a broad indirect tax practice, having advised and represented HMRC and taxpayers in numerous cases, both in relation to tribunal appeals and judicial review proceedings.  In addition, she has experience in a wide variety of healthcare / disciplinary matters; in particular, she was junior counsel for Professor Walker-Smith in the longest case on record before the General Medical Council (relating to the MMR vaccine / autism debate) and in the subsequent successful appeal of the Panel’s decision before the Administrative Court. She is also a volunteer for IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Educational Advice).
